Jalandhar January 15 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NSS Wing of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organized the Valedictory Ceremony of 7 day NSS Camp SAPTVARN. The camp was inaugurated from 9th – 15th January 2025. Dr. Mandeep Kaur, PCS, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar presided as Chief guest and Dr. Sumita Abrol, Assistant Health Officer, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar presided as Guest on this day.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra warmly welcomed the guests along with floral bouquets and expressed her gratitude for their presence. Addressing the students Dr. Dhingra said, ” My heartiest congratulations to each and everyone who had participated in this camp. The motto of NSS Wing is to make students realise about their social responsibilities and our students do that with total devotion.”
The Valedictory Ceremony began with Classical Dance on Surya Vandana by Khushi, a student of MA – Indian Classical Dance Semester 4th. This was folllowed by a video presentation titled – Gatha which showcased the story and a journey of a woman from the Vedic to modern times. The purpose of the video was to highlight the fact that irrespective of the challenges and hurdles put forth by the society in the modern age, there is not any field where women have not made their place and left their footprints.
The august gathering also witnessed the glimpses of the activities and work done by NSS Volunteers throughout the 7 days of the camp where they had organized rallies and lectures on important topics like – Cyber Awareness, Health Management, Youth Development, Connecting students with roots etc.

She said under the expert leadership of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia (President, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; Chairperson, Apeejay Education, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University), the college is touching new heights and making its name known around the nation.
She put forth that the way Apeejay College infuses the culture and love for art and community service is commendable and emphasized that joy of giving is certainly incredible and when one becomes the part of this community service, they certainly experience it. She also added that Jalandhar is soon going to start with beautification projects – ‘Waste to Wealth’ where she would like to include the students of Apeejay in the process.
All the NSS Voluneteers were given certificates for their contribution in making the camp a success.
Dr. Dhingra presented the memento to the distinguished guests as a token of love. She also acknowledged the contribution and efforts of the NSS team and admired Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean, NSS Wing, Ms. Chetna Sharma, Ms. Rachita Jain, Ms. Komal, Mr. Kunj, Mr. Sahil and Mr. Gurvinder for the success of 7 day Camp – SAPTVARN.
