Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports selects a professor from Lyallpur Khalsa College as a member of the National Committee

Jalandhar October 25 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College is committed to the overall development of its staff as well as students. Recently, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, constituted a national level committee to review the NSS Manual 2006 in which the NSS Program Officer of the college, Prof. Satpal Singh, was selected as a member. Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur congratulated him and said that it is a big achievement to be a part of the 16-member team from all over India.

She further said that Prof. Satpal Singh is the only professor from the colleges and universities under the Chandigarh Directorate, including Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, who has been selected in this committee. Professor Satpal Singh said that the 2006 NSS Manual needs to be updated as per the modern requirements. He assured that he would do his best for the role that has been entrusted to him. He said that the committee will submit its recommendations to the Ministry within a month.

During this event, the Chief Programme Officer of NSS thanked the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Regional Directorate Chandigarh, State NSS Cell Punjab, President and Principal of the Governing Council for providing such a responsibility. On this occasion, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Head of Commerce Department was also present.
