Jalandhar October 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Three M.Sc. Chemistry students of HMV Jalandhar were selected for project/internship at Guru Nanak Dev University. Ms. Priyanka Sharma, M.Sc. Chemistry, 1st year did her project with Dr. Prabhpreet Singh on the “Rylene imide base radical anions and their photothermal applications”. Ms. Gulnaar Grewal and Ms. Nancy Sahota, M.Sc. Chemistry 2nd year, completed their summer internship with Dr. Vipin Kumar on the “Synthesis and Characterization of DHPM precursors for Antimalarial potential”.
They gained practical experience in synthetic Organic Chemistry performing different organic reactions and their purification using techniques such as coulumn chromatography. They became familiar with characterization tools such as NMR spectroscopy, MesterNova, Chemdraw, UV-VIS spectroscopy, Flourescence meter etc. Principal, Professor, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated and appreciated the students for their remarkable efforts.
