Lyallpur Khalsa College students receive scholarship money from Jatt Sikh Council

Jalandhar April 4 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, provides scholarships to needy and meritorious students, assists them to pursue their respective studies and also motivates various non-governmental social welfare organizations to provide scholarships to the meritorious students of the college. Under this, “The Jatt Sikh Council (Regd.)” provided scholarship money of Rs. 45 thousand to meritorious needy students. Chief guest of the event President, Jatt Sikh Council, S. Kuljit Singh Hair, Finance Secretary S. Sukhbahar Singh and all the members present with him were welcomed by S. Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary, Governing Council Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar and Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu.

Joint Secretary S. Jaspal Singh Waraich in his welcome speech informed that The Jatt Sikh Council, formed in 2010, has been providing financial assistance to the meritorious needy students of the college for a long time. He also informed that even in the natural calamity (floods), the Jatt Sikh Council helped the flood victims with around Rs. 8 lakh.

Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, in his opening remarks thanked S. Jaspal Singh Waraich and the President of the Jatt Sikh Council S. Kuljit Singh Hair, Finance Secretary S. Sukhbahar Singh, S. Guriqbal Singh Dhillon, S. Raja Kahlon, S. Baljinder Singh Dhadda, S. Dharminder Singh Chahal, and S. Tajinder Singh Sohal members. This scholarship of rupees forty five thousand was provided to 9 students of the college.

On this occasion, the chief guest motivated the students to set their goals in life and work hard to achieve them. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu added that this initiative of ‘The Jatt Sikh Council’ is very commendable because it not only provides financial assistance to the students but also encourages them to study further and be successful in life. The scholarships were received by students Prabhjot Singh, Ramanpreet Kaur, Gurpreet Singh, Kirandeep Kaur, Sehajpreet Kaur, Arshdeep Kaur, Gagandeep Singh, Gursimran Kaur and Amanpreet Kaur. The role of stage secretary was played by Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon.
