Jalandhar October 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- NSS Unit & Red Ribbon Club of Lyallpur Khalsa College in collaboration with Red Cross Jalandhar organized One Day Blood Donation Camp in the college campus. Assistant Commissioner (G) Mr. Rohit Jindal was the chief guest. Asst. Comm. Mr. Jindal, Principal Dr. Suman Chopra & Mr. Surjit Lal inaugurated the camp. Mr. Jindal applauded the noble cause of the college and encouraged the students to come forward to donate blood.
Principal Dr. Chopra said that blood donations as per the real requirement are less. She added that due to road accidents, thalassemia and other medical conditions patients requiring blood have increased in the last decade. NSS Chief Program officer Prof. Satpal Singh said that NSS volunteers held placards to motivate the students to donate blood. He informed that around 38 units of blood were collected.
During this camp, Prof. Manish Goel, Prof. Sarbjit Kaur & Prof. Annie Goyal donated blood. The event was witnessed by Prof. Gagandeep Kaur, Prof. Upma, Prof. Surbjit Singh, Red Cross staff members and NSS volunteers.
