Jalandhar October 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The P.G. Department of Computer Science and IT of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a “Freshers’ Party” to welcome the new batch of students with enthusiasm and joy. The college Principal, Prof. Navdeep Kaur. was the chief guest of the event. The students of the department gave a formal welcome to the dignitaries. The event was inaugurated with great enthusiasm, where Principal, Prof. Navdeep Kaur, congratulated and welcomed the new students on beginning a new academic journey. She encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the institution.
The event was followed by a series of cultural performances by the students like Modelling, Dances, Songs, Poetry, Games. The Freshers introduced themselves creatively and participated in various competitions and earned various titles. Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Head of the Department, appreciated the efforts of the staff and the senior students for successfully organizing the event and motivated the newcomers to excel in academics as well as co-curricular activities.

Vishal Bhatt ( Bsc IT Sem 1) earned the title of Mr. Fresher and Mitali ( BSc (CS) Sem 1) earned the title of Ms. Fresher. Muskan ( BCA Sem 1) bagged Ms. Confident and Sahilpreet ( BCA Sem 1) bagged Mr. Confident. Dhruv Anand ( BCA Sem 1) won Mr. Fitness Freak title and Anjali ( BSc (CS) Sem 1) was declared Ms. Fashion Icon.
Shubham ( BDMM Sem 1) won Mr. Handsome and Sandhya (BCA Sem 1) bagged Ms. Charming title. The judges of the competition were Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Dr. Daljit Kaur and Prof. Sonu Gupta. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Ratnakar Mann. Around 150 students of the department attended the function. Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur and other teaching and non-teaching staff members of the department were also present. The stage management was done by Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Saini accompanied by the student coordinators Simran, Sonali, Nikita.
