Jalandhar January 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- NSS Unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar observed Road Safety Week from 11 to 18 January 2024 in collaboration with NYKS and Traffic Education Cell Jalandhar. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh on this occasion motivated the volunteers of Lyallpur Khalsa College to be ambassadors of Road Safety. He added that due to lack of awareness of traffic rules many people die in road accidents every year. This loss of life could be minimized by spreading awareness about rules related to road safety.
Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that the road safety week was initiated on 11th January 2024 in a seminar where Mr Shamsher Singh, ASI, Traffic Education Cell, through his observations and experiences, explained the ways to save lives on road. On the fifth day of the program, the volunteers rallied from the college to PAP Chowk by raising slogans.
Moreover, volunteers made the vehicle owners aware at BSF Chowk and PAP Chowk by showing placards and posters regarding road safety instructions. During this event, Traffic Education Cell representatives guided the volunteers on road. The program concluded at BMC Chowk with Awareness Rally. PO Dr Amandeep Kaur managed the event systematically.
