Jalandhar August 12 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The festival of Teeya dedicated to daughters related to the month of Sawan was celebrated in a grand style at Lyallpur Khalsa College, the leading educational institution of North India. ADC (General) Jalandhar Madam Amaninder Kaur Brar attended as the chief guest. During this, the Principal of the college Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu honored the chief guest along with the staff by giving bouquets of flowers and memento. While formally welcoming the guests, Principal Dr. Sandhu said that this institution celebrates the Teeya festival dedicated to daughters every year.
He added that this is an effort to connect the students with our culture and the college is a heritage institution and always strives to preserve its cultural treasure and transmit it to the next generation. Speaking as the chief guest, Madam Amaninder Kaur Brar said that Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is one of the leading institutions that connect students with its heritage along with quality education. She opined that the name of this institution resonates in every corner of the world, which testifies to the fact that this institution provides special opportunities for its students to move forward. She said that she is feeling proud and happy to be the chief guest in this special program of Teej dedicated to daughters.
Finally, she wished the students best for their studies. On this occasion, under the guidance of Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina Dean Cultural, Prof. Sukhdev Sagar Head of Music Department, Prof. Ravneet Kaur and Prof. Harjinder Kaur, the students performed folk dance Giddha, folk songs and many other cultural performances. The entire program was managed by Dr. Balraj Kaur, Head of Dept.of English and Dept. of physiotherapy Dr. Jaswant Kaur. Stage was managed by Prof. Daljit Kaur and Prof. Preeti who added a good color to the entire program. In the end, Dr. Balraj Kaur thanked everyone. On this occasion, heads of all departments, teachers, non-teaching staff and a large number of students were present.
