Jalandhar April 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Department of Civil Engineering, Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus organized an Industrial visit to “Bhakra Nangal Dam”, for B.Tech Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering 4th semester students. The objective of this industrial visit was to help the students to gain the knowledge about dam which would help the students to understand practical implementation of theoretical concepts and their real time functional environment.
Er. Charanpreet Singh, Chief Engineer Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Er. K L Thakur, Superintending Engineer BBMB, Er. Walia Executive Engineer BBMB. Er. Chaman Lal Sub divisional Engineer BBMB interacted with the students in Satluj Sadan. Mr. Satnam Singh PRO BBMB at the Nehru Centre explained in detail about the construction and working details of the dam.
Students got knowledge about the problems and obstacles which occur during construction and various responsibilities of the engineer at the site. Eventually, it was great learning experience for all the students.
S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director, A.A. KCL Group) and Dr. R S Deol, Director, LKCTC congratulated and appreciated the efforts of CE/ME department for taking care of the academic as well as professional development of students and arranging such informational industrial visits for the students.
