Jalandhar December 20 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The RCE Committee, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Management, organized a workshop on Research Methodology titled “Use of Tableau as a Research Tool for Data Visualization.” The primary objective of the workshop was to equip participants with fundamental skills for analyzing data, connecting to and customizing data sources (including live data and in-memory extracts), editing field metadata, grouping fields, applying sorting and filtering techniques, and comparing subsets of data using Tableau.
Tableau is one of the most impactful and useful tools for improving data visualization, thereby engaging the audience during presentations. Whether you’re a student, business analyst, data scientist, or a research scholar who wants to make data-driven decisions clearer and wishes to predict the trends and analyzing the historical data can make use of this tool and elevate your career.
Dr. Pooja Dhand served as the resource person for the workshop
Dr. Pooja Dhand, who has made significant contributions to computer science research, served as the resource person for the workshop. She is a Ph.D. holder from MMU Mullana (Deemed to be University) and Associate Professor and HOD of the CSE department at LKCTC, is a distinguished professor of computer science with expertise in artificial intelligence, software engineering, databases, and wireless communication.
She explained Tableau’s features and its practical applications to all faculty members, highlighting its use in creating attractive graphs and presentations for research and student teaching.
The workshop was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Sucharu Mahajan, Assistant Professor, CSE and Dr. Rupinder Sampla, Assistant Professor, Management.
Sardar Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director of Academic Affairs at KCL Group) and Dr. R. S. Deol ( Director LKCTC) emphasized the workshop’s significance in the market, noting that Tableau’s leading position in modern business intelligence and analytics and encourage to explore and organize more such workshops to give hand-on-training to faculty members to explore and manage data.
