Jalandhar February 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus celebrated Basant Panchmi with lot of enthusiasm & fanfare. The event started with the speech of Director LKCTC, Dr. R.S. Deol. He highlighted the importance of Basant Panchami and said that the festival is usually considered to mark the onset of spring emulating the light yellow mustard flowers in the field. Basant Panchmi is also a festival that honours Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, Music and Art.
Kite design contest was organized to celebrate Basant Panchmi. Students took part in various competitions enthusiastically.
After that Punjabi Folk Songs, Giddha, Bhangra, etc were presented by students.
At the end results were declared in which, Ruby Saroye from BBA fourth semester secured Ist position, Ramanjot from MBA second semester secured second position and Maliknoor from B.Com second semester secured third position in Most Vibrant Kite.
In Most Innovative Kite contest Geetanjali from B.Com sixth semester & Ishmeet Singh from Data science second semester bagged Ist position, Yoshika Sharma from MBA second semester and Harmilan from MCA second semester got second position & Bhavdeep from B.Tech sixth semester and Saloni and Tanveer from BBA fourth semester bagged third position . Furthermore Babita from MCA fourth semester, Preeti from BBA fourth semester and Haneesh from CSE sixth sem & Priyanka from BBA sixth semester were the winners of Most Eco-friendly kite context securing first , second and third position respectively.
S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director A.A. KCL- Group) and Dr. R.S. Deol (Director- LKCTC) applauded these types of celebrations and said such kinds of events are energy boosters for the students and build their creativity in positive manner. They also congratulated the organizing committee Dr. Nancy Gupta and Ms. Anterpreet Kaur for organizing such appreciable event and motivated them for future too.
