Jalandhar March 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Library Advisory Committee of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, under the aegis of IQAC, organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Exploring Documents in Non-Digital to Digital Era.”
The way we create, store, and access documents has evolved significantly over time. The shift from non-digital (paper-based) documents to digital formats has transformed the education system, improving efficiency and accessibility while also presenting new challenges. Before the digital revolution, documents were primarily stored in physical forms such as books, files, and manuscripts. However, the rise of computers and the internet led to the gradual digitization of documents, including scanning, digital storage, cloud computing, and improved searchability. This transition has reshaped how information is managed in contemporary times.
The lecture was delivered by Ms. Kanchan, Librarian, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar, who provided valuable insights into how document management has transformed over the years.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the Managing Committee, and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar applauded the committee’s efforts in organizing an event that effectively mapped the transition towards the digital era.
