Jalandhar May 2 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- With motive to promote quality research and ethical practices among faculty and students, Research Development Centre, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized Research Forum in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell. Dr Dhanwantri Prakash Tripathi, Deputy Librarian, National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar was the resource person. Dr Tripathi spoke on the topic “Research Ethics and Plagiarism” highlighting series of steps encouraging ethical research output. He emphasized on avoiding biasing experimental design, data analysis, data interpretation and talked about areas of academic misconduct in research including plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, data gathering and few more.
He further maintained that the involvement of students in ethical research activities will result in the enhancement of their knowledge skills. The research forum also involved a detailed presentation on research initiatives taken by PG Department of Chemistry in past and the ones in near future. Dr Manju Sahni, Head, P.G Department of Chemistry introduced the Chemistry department and highlighted the status of the grants sanctioned, the events organized, PhDs, IPRs and the research publications of the department. She also appraised the faculty with rich credentials and achievements of the faculty.
After the introduction of the department Dr. Narinderjit Kaur read the faculty profiles and appraised their International/ National awards and appreciations.Principal Prof. (Dr) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, lauded the contribution of the Chemistry department and congratulated the Research Development Centre for successfully organizing the event.
