Jalandhar November 6 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) PG Department of Botany organised an Extension Lecture on “Transgenic Plants: Opportunities and Biodiversity Concerns”. The resource person, Prof. M.C. Sidhu, Department of Botany, Punjab University, Chandigarh, aware the students about Transgenic Plants. The extension lecture on transgenic plants was an enlightening experience. It offered a well-rounded perspective on the subject, addressing both the potential benefits and the ethical concerns associated with genetic modification in plants.
Prof. M.C. Sidhu presented the information in a clear and engaging manner, making the complex subject matter accessible to a diverse audience.He also boosted the motivation among the students to choose the field of transgenic and clear out the queries of the participants. More than 70 participants, including faculty of botany and students attended the extension lecture. Principal Prof Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Mrs. Shikha Vashisht and other faculty members for organising such initiatives to make the students aware about recent trends in thefield of science.
