KMV organises an extension lecture on Career Prospects in Defense: Future Ahead

Jalandhar April 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has been striving tirelessly for the holistic growth of students. The college has a sustained record of excellence in Placements and many students have successfully cleared various competitive exams for CA, IAS, NDA, CDS, ICWA, UGC NET, GATE, Bank PO, Railways and many more due to the untiring and ceaseless efforts by the Faculty of Centre for Competitive Exams. The Centre for Competitive Exams under the aegis of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has been organizing various workshops, extension lectures and seminars for the young aspiring students. Keeping with this trend, an extension lecture on Career Prospects in Defense: Future Ahead was organized.

Col. Maninder Singh Sachdev Commanding Officer, 2 Punjab Girls Battalion NCC Jalandhar was the resource person for this session. In his lecture, Col. M.S Sachdev highlighted the relevance of defense in the present context, emphasizing on the things we learn when we join any armed forces. His illuminating and incisive presentation kept the students totally engrossed. He explained the career options in Defense along with the procedure of joining armed forces by citing various anecdotes and examples. He reiterated that the students should primarily have a passion and commitment for clearing any competitive exam.

They should thoroughly analyze the syllabus of exams before starting with its preparation. Col. M.S Sachdeva further stated that the role of teachers is very vital throughout the process for preparation, which includes hard work and commitment both on the part of the teachers and students. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi inspired the students to actively participate in all awareness and placement drives and avail the opportunities provided to them on the college campus. She emphasized that becoming financially independent is the need of the hour.

Madam Principal averred that in Indian Armed Forces, the rules of employability are gender neutral, providing equal opportunities to men and women. Besides service to the nation, jobs in Indian Armed Forces result in metamorphic transformation in the personality of the cadets. Dr. Sabina Batra, Incharge, Centre for Competitive Exams expressed a formal Vote of Thanks. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Pardeep Arora, Dr. Archana Saini. Dr. Iqbal, Mrs. Sufalica Kalia, Dr. Prachi and Mrs. Sanjana for their constant and consistent efforts in organizing such events and contributing towards the overall growth of the students.
