Jalandhar November 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) Department of Hospitality and Tourism organised an educational field visit for the BBA (Honours) Airlines and Airport Management students to the Adampur and Amritsar Airports. This initiative aimed to provide students with practical exposure to airport operations, management protocols, and the complexities of the aviation industry. The visit began at Adampur Airport, where students observed the operational framework of a regional airport, including passenger handling, baggage management, and security measures. They also learned about the roles of ground staff, air traffic controllers, and customer service teams in maintaining smooth operations.
At Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar, the students explored the functioning of an international airport. They observed customs, immigration, cargo handling, and international passenger services. Interaction sessions with airport officials provided them with insights into the industry’s challenges and opportunities, broadening their understanding of the aviation sector.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi commended the field visit as an integral part of KMV’s experiential learning approach and averred that such initiatives bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices, equipping our students with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their careers. She further highlighted KMV’s commitment to empowering students with industry-relevant education.
