KMV organises a boot camp on Drone Fundamentals

Jalandhar September 23 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in collaboration with National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar inaugurated a 5-day intensive bootcamp on Drone Fundamentals: Assembly to Applications. It is an initiative under the project Capacity Building for Human Resources in unmanned Aircraft systems (Drone and related technology) funded by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The boot camp was organised by Department of Sciences of KMV. The event was graced by Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV, Prof. Arun Khosla from the ECE Department, and Dr. Krishan Pal Sharma from the CSE Department of NIT Jalandhar.

The bootcamp aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of drone technology and its applications. A distinguished panel of experts, including Captain Ashinee Kumar Acharya, Commercial Pilot License in (Aeroplane), Remote Pilot Instructor in (Small & Medium), Rotorcraft, Ms. Shivangi Sachdeva, Drone Pilot Instructor, Dr. Sandeep Verma, Project Lead at NIT Jalandhar and Mr. Suhail Mohi Ul Din, JRF on the same project, have been invited to share their knowledge and expertise.

On the first day, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, inaugurated the event, highlighting the importance of the boot camp in shaping future careers in the rapidly growing drone industry. She averred that Drone technology is transforming industries across the globe.

This boot camp will help students

With support from the Government of India, this boot camp will help our students and participants develop skills that are in high demand. The practical knowledge they gain will position them for future success in tech-driven fields. She further maintained that KMV’s initiative to host this bootcamp reflects the commitment to provide students with cutting-edge education and training.

By fostering an environment of learning and innovation, KMV aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the growth and development of the country.Prof. Arun Khosla in the inaugural session addressed the students about the details of the bootcamp and encouraged them to be involved actively in the camp and find potential of their career in drone technology.

Captain Ashinee Kumar Acharya kicked off the bootcamp

Captain Ashinee Kumar Acharya kicked off the bootcamp with an insightful session on the principles, definitions, and components related to aircraft. He also delved into drone technology, its advancements, future prospects, and the industries involved in its manufacturing. He also discussed the various types of drones, their advantages and disadvantages, and the factors that influence their stability and manoeuvrability. The session further explored the pros and cons of drones with different propeller configurations. The bootcamp is expected to equip students with the skills and knowledge partner necessary to excel in the rapidly growing field of drone technology.

It is pertinent to mention that this five-day event is expected to attract significant attention from students and tech enthusiasts across the region, as KMV continues to position itself as a hub for innovation and career-oriented education. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Neetu Verma, Head, PG Department of Physics for successfully organising the camp.
