Jalandhar June 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in order to spread awareness about the Environment & Biodiversity conservation celebrated World Environment Day. The two day event was organized by Department of Environmental Sciences, NCC, NSS and Eco-Club. Every year college grabs opportunity to sensitize students and institutional faculty regarding this vital environmental issue. Students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in the event to showcase their creativity.
Students made posters, slogans, organised plantation rive and also took pledge. The main motive of this event was to make students aware about the Environment & Biodiversity conservation. Students accentuated many issue like protection of species, save plants, save nature and restoring degraded, damaged or destroyed ecosystem and habitats in the environment by active human intervention and actions etc through plantation drive. Meanwhile NCC cadets also planted different useful medicinal, ornamental and plants releasing oxygen during night.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students for joining the cause and asked them to connect to such initiatives in future too. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dean Student welfare Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Department of Student Welfare, Dr. Archana Saini & Ms. Sufalica Kalia and Incharge NCC for sensitizing the students and making the event big success.
