National Technology Day

Students participate in various week long activities during the celebration

Jalandhar May 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec School and KMV’s Institution Innovation Council (IIC) jointly celebrated National Technology Day to acknowledge the contributions made by researchers, engineers and scientists to the society. On this occasion, week long activities were organized in which collegiate students (Humanities/Commerce/Sciences) participated with full zeal. On the first day, a motivated lecture on ‘Innovation and Design Thinking’ was delivered by Dr. Neetu Verma, Head, PG Department of Physics to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and startups in the young minds. She emphasized that there are no limits to what we can accomplish except the limits we place in our own thinking.

The visits to various startups such as Retail Lab, Cosmetology Lab, Innovation Hub and Home Science Lab were also organized to inform the students about the growing global opportunities. A competition on ‘Best out of Waste’ was the main attraction as the students prepared working models with waste material. They prepared innovative models on the theme ‘Igniting Young Minds to Innovate’. The students exhibited their working models and explained them to the guests.

It was a productive activity as the students learnt a lot about recycling and reusing materials from these projects. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet (Dean, Student Welfare and Head, PG Department of English), Ms. Veena Deepak (Co-ordinator, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School), Ms. Anand Prabha (Incharge, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School) and the collegiate staff for organizing such innovative and informative events and said that students must be motivated to take part in such endeavors.
