Grade-wise activities were thoughtfully planned to ensure maximum involvement and impact. The session encouraged critical thinking and open dialogue. Students further expressed their concerns and commitment towards staying drug-free through an emotionally resonant poem recitation activity. These activities were designed to sensitize adolescents about the risks and vulnerabilities associated with substance abuse, while also creating a safe space for students to voice their concerns without fear or hesitation.
Principals of respective schools, Mr Rajeev Paliwal (GMT), Ms Shallu Sehgal ( Loharan), Ms Sonali (CJR) and Mrs Sheetu (Kapurthala Road) Mrs Minakshi (Director Noorpur Road) emphasized that substances like tobacco and alcohol are often considered gateway drugs, as they are typically the first substances accessed by adolescents and may gradually lead to more severe addictions. The collective efforts of students and educators through the Buddy Group initiative strongly reinforced the message of awareness, responsibility, and commitment towards building a drug-free, healthy, and empowered society.
