HMV pays Homage to the ‘Father of the Nation’

Jalandhar January 30 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The faculty and students of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar observed the Martyrdom Day of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Two minutes silence was observed in the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for Nation’s freedom. Later, the faculty members and students gathered to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, a beacon of peace and non-violence, whose life is a testament to the power of truth and compassion. The event began with the recitation of poem by Sakshi Vaid, Assistant Head Girl.

Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen appreciated the initiative of the Student Council and inspired them to keep alive the memory and legacy of the Father of Nation. She remarked as we strive for a world where harmony prevails over discord, Gandhi ji’s legacy lives on inspiring us to pursue justice, equality and love for all . His commitment to Ahimsa, remains a guiding light in today’s turbulent world.

It was followed by the floral homage by Mrs. Navroop, Faculty Head Humaniand Dean Youth Welfare, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics and Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Coordinator IQAC, Mrs. Arvinder Kaur, Co-Coordinator Collegiate School, Office Superintendents Mr. Pankaj, Mr. Lakhwinder, faculty members and Head Girls of the College and Collegiate School.

Department of Music presented a melodious group song under the guidance of Dr. Prem Sagar, Head Music Vocal. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council. She opined that people of India should get together and remember the sacrifices of Mahatma Gandhi on this Day. Stage was handled by Mrs. Protima , Head of History Department , who walked down the memory lane of this day on 30th January 1948.
