Jalandhar March 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PG Department of English of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar organized a one-day trip to Naina Devi, Virasat-e- Khalsa, and Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara on 24th February 2024. The primary objective was to provide an enriching cultural experience for the students. A total of 54 students enthusiastically participated in the trip, accompanied by Head of English Department Dr. Mamta, Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Mr. Parminder, Ms. Yamini and Ms. Himani. The trip commenced with a visit to Naina Devi, a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Naina Devi.
The students immersed themselves in the spiritual ambience and enjoyed the picturesque surroundings. The next destination was Virasat-e-Khalsa, a museum that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. Students had the opportunity to explore exhibits depicting the history, art, and traditions of Punjab, contributing to their academic and cultural knowledge. The final destination of the trip included a visit to Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara, a significant Sikh pilgrimage site. The students experienced the tranquility of the Gurudwara, participated in prayers, and learned about the historical significance of the place.
The one-day trip was a delightful experience for both students and faculty. It provided a break from the routine academic environment and allowed participants to bond outside the classroom. The cultural exposure enhanced their understanding of the diverse heritage of India. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen commended the efforts of Dr. Mamta for organizing this trip. She expressed appreciation for the positive impact of such cultural excursions on the students’ overall development.
