Jalandhar August 17 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a literary session under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The incharge of the session was Dr. Navroop Head of Punjabi Department. The Resource Person was Shiromani NRI Punjabi Writer Dr. Gurbaksh Singh Bhandal. Dr. Bhandal has contributed 22 books to Punjabi Literature. He is also Prof. in Physics at Queen Land University, Ohio (America). He recited many of his poems based on deep feelings and emotions.
He told the students about his life journey from village to America and from being a student to Professor. He encouraged the students not to fear from any failure and should continuously do the efforts. He also gave answers to the questions of students. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen congratulated the Programme Organizing Team and welcomed Dr. Gurbaksh Singh Bhandal to the Institution. She said that Punjabi Language makes us aware of our feelings. Words that cannot be expressed directly can be expressed through poems. She said that such programmes will continue to be organized in future also.
Head of Punjabi Department Dr. Navroop welcomed him and encouraged the students to learn from his life. The stage was conducted by Mrs. Kuljit Kaur from Punjabi Department. She encouraged the students to unite with literature. Incharge Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Dr. Veena Arora presented vote of thanks. On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Mrs. Pawandeep Kaur and Ms. Amanpal Kaur were also present.
