Jalandhar August 3 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, organised an Orientation and Induction Ceremony for the newly admitted postgraduate students to mark the commencement of the new academic session. The programme aimed to familiarise the students with the institution’s rich academic legacy, core values, disciplined environment, and the wide range of academic and co-curricular opportunities available on campus. The ceremony commenced with auspicious Havan Yajna.
Amid the chanting of Vedic hymns and devotional bhajans, the Principal, faculty members, staff and newly admitted students offered sacred oblations into the holy fire and prayed for a successful, knowledge-enriching and auspicious academic year. The spiritual ambience infused the gathering with positivity and enthusiasm. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, the Chief Guest on the occasion, extended a warm welcome to the postgraduate students and congratulated them on embarking upon a new phase of academic excellence.

Encouraging the students to make the best use of their time, Dr Khosla urged them to pursue academic excellence with dedication, uphold ethical values, maintain discipline and cultivate a positive outlook. During the orientation session, coordinators of various departments and cells acquainted the students with the college’s academic policies, support services and student welfare initiatives. Dr Seema Marwaha explained the leave rules, eligibility criteria and academic schedule. Mrs Beenu Gupta briefed the students about scholarships and short-term certificate courses.

Mr Jagjit Bhatia shared information regarding placements, internships and career opportunities. Lt Sonia Mahindru introduced the activities and significance of the NCC, while Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur spoke about the NSS, discipline and community engagement programmes.
Ms Harpreet Kaur explained the student support services and welfare schemes, and Dr Anil Bhasin briefed the students about the college transport facilities and related guidelines. The proceedings were efficiently conducted by Dr Anjana Bhatia.
