Jalandhar June 2 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, has achieved a monumental milestone by being bestowed with the prestigious “Platinum Sustainable Campus Partner” recognition under the National Sustainable Award framework for its outstanding and pioneering contribution to environmental sustainability initiatives. The elite national honor was officially conferred during a grand ceremony held at the Global Peace Auditorium in Hyderabad by the distinguished academician Dr. T.G. Sitharaman, former Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
The recognition was awarded as part of the “Bharat Environment Programme – National Sustainable Campus Mission 2026,” organised by the Research Heights Foundation in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI). The programme acknowledged premier educational institutions for promoting sustainable environmental practices and awareness activities on campuses. HMV earned the apex certification after successfully conducting comprehensive sustainable development activities focusing on environmental protection, green campus development, sanitation, water conservation, and plantation drives. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla formally received the honor on behalf of the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khosla expressed immense happiness over the institution receiving the award and appreciated the collective contribution of the faculty, coordinators, and students who actively participated in the sustainability initiatives. She expressed her gratitude towards Padamshree Awardee Dr. Punam Suri , President DAVCMC and esteemed members of DAVCMC and Local Advisory Committee for their continuous support. IQAC Coordinater and Nodal Officer Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Dean Academic Dr. Seema Marwaha told that HMV has always been at the forefront of environmental initiatives, consistently working towards raising environmental awareness among students and contributing towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
