Convention-cum-Workshop

Jalandhar March 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar hosted a two-day Annual Convention-cum-Workshop on “Quantum to AI: Scientific Roadmap to Viksit Bharat@2047” under the aegis of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT RC-02) and under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr. Ekta Khosla. The convention aims to create a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, collaborative discussions, and innovative thinking in the fields of physics, quantum science, and artificial intelligence. The formal inaugural session was preceded by an engaging exhibition on Quantum Physics, where nearly 30 posters were displayed in the Science Lawn, showcasing innovative ideas and research perspectives.

The inaugural session was graced by Prof. P. K. Ahluwalia, President IAPT RC 02 , as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Lokesh Kumar from the Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh, as the Guest of Honour. The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. Sumit Bhardwaj, Manager (Analytics), Global Analytics, Concentrix India. The session commenced with a warm welcome by Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, who extended her heartfelt greetings to the distinguished guests, delegates, faculty members, and students. She appreciated the initiative of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers for providing such a meaningful academic platform and encouraged students and young researchers to actively engage in scientific exploration and innovation.

She also congratulated Dr. Sushil Kumar, Convener, and Dr. Saloni Sharma, Co-Convener, along with the organizing team for successfully hosting the convention. In his inaugural address, Prof. P. K. Ahluwalia introduced the vision and initiatives of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers and highlighted the evolving landscape of physics education and research in India, stressing the importance of interdisciplinary collaborations to meet future scientific challenges. Dr. Jaswinder Singh, President IAPT RC-02, presented the concept note of the convention and highlighted the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence and advanced scientific research in shaping India’s future scientific and technological growth.

The inaugural session set the tone for the two-day convention

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Sumit Bhardwaj discussed the expanding role of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and computational tools in modern scientific discovery. He explained how these technologies are revolutionizing research methodologies across disciplines. He also advised students to remain aware of digital security and adopt safe online practices to protect personal data, emphasizing responsible use of technology in the digital age. The inaugural session set the tone for the two-day convention, which would feature invited lectures, poster presentations, and technical sessions.

During the subsequent session, Prof. Lokesh Kumar shared valuable insights into contemporary developments in physics and encouraged participants to remain curious, analytical, and research-oriented in their academic pursuits. The day concluded with technical sessions featuring presentations by participants, allowing scholars and students to showcase their research work. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 academicians, researchers, and students from various institutions, making the convention intellectually vibrant and inspiring.

The special features of the day were robotic show of Chitti dog and release of LUCI poster. Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Deepshikha, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Dr. Gagandeep, Dr. Jatinder Kumar, Dr. Harpreet, Mr. Gullagong, Mr. Sumit Sharma, Dr. Shweta Chauhan, Dr. Simmi Garg, Dr. Sakshi, Dr. Vandana, Dr. Shuchi, Dr. Ramandeep, Dr Gaurav, Mr. Ravi Kumar, along with other faculty members from the Science Departments.
