Jalandhar December 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, successfully organised a six-day Character-Building Camp under the visionary leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mrs. Ekta Khosla. The camp was held under the aegis of the Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi, and the auspices of the Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab, with active support from the Vedic Study Committee, Sanskrit Department, and Arya Yuvati Sabha. The week-long camp aimed at strengthening the moral, spiritual, and cultural foundation of students while connecting them with India’s rich Vedic heritage.

Each day of the camp focused on a unique dimension of character building. The camp commenced with an introduction to the Yajna Process, where students learned about the method of performing Hawan Yajna, its spiritual significance, and its scientific impact on health and the environment. The second day featured a profound discussion on Vedic Values, highlighting teachings of truth, righteousness, non-violence, discipline, and knowledge embedded in the Vedas. On the third day, students shared insightful reflections on the inspiring lives and contributions of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati ji, Mahatma Hansraj ji, Mahatma Anand Swami ji, and Swami Shraddhanand Ji.

The fourth day witnessed enthusiastic discussions on the rules of Arya Samaj, with students interpreting and sharing the relevance of each rule in present times. The fifth day was dedicated to Gayatri Mahima, where students offered heartfelt prayers and chanted mantras in praise of the Divine. The camp culminated in a grand 31 kundiya Yajna, in which all students participated with devotion and discipline, performing the Yajna themselves and resolving to embrace vedic culture in their daily lives.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mrs. Ekta Khosla appreciated the efforts of Dean Vedic Studies Dr. Mamta and Head , Sanskrit Department Dr. Meenu Talwar for successfully organising the camp. She expressed that many students got the opportunity for the first time to understand the depth and relevance of Vedic culture. She added that bookish knowledge alone is not enough to build a holistic personality. Understanding one’s own culture and adopting its values is equally essential for today’s youth.

She encouraged the department to hold more such meaningful initiatives in the future. Dr. Mamta, motivated students to reflect deeply on the learnings received throughout the camp. Dr. Meenu Talwar, conducted the sessions, shared details of upcoming programs, and extended a vote of thanks. School Coordinator Mrs. Arvinder Kaur, Mrs. Anuradha, Mrs. Roma, Ms. Anju, and other faculty members were also present during the camp.
