Jalandhar October 23 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The campus of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School came alive with colors, creativity, and cheerful enthusiasm as the school hosted its much-awaited inter-school event, Prayaas – Searching Gems under the visionary guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The day was a vibrant celebration of youthful energy, innovation, and artistic brilliance. Students from various schools participated wholeheartedly in a range of competitions including on-the-spot painting, rangoli, best out of waste, science model presentations, singing, and dance. Each event reflected the spirit of talent, teamwork, and healthy competition.
A special highlight of the day was the engaging session by World Record Holder Dr. Jaswinder Singh Shiksha Ratan, a dynamic and multi award- winning resource person who captivated the audience with his live demonstrations of physics experiments, blending science with wonder and sparking curiosity among young learners. The event was graced by the esteemed Principal and Chief Guest, Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen, who applauded the participants for their creativity and confidence. She was welcomed with a green planter by Dr Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics and school coordinator and Mrs Arvinder Kaur, School Co- Coordinator.
A token of gratitude – a green planter and a momentum was presented to esteemed Resource person Dr Jaswinder Singh. The respected judges of the event- Dr Rakhi Mehta, Dr Shailender, Dr Sushil Kumar, Mrs Rishav, Mrs Vandana Gupta, Mrs Amanpreet, Ms.Gunjan & Ms. Vanita were felicitated with a green planter too. In her inspiring address, Dr. Sareen reminded students that education is not confined to classrooms alone- it is also about exploring passions, expressing oneself, and learning to appreciate the beauty of every experience. Her words resonated deeply, motivating the students to continue striving for excellence with humility and joy.
In the event Best out of Waste, Ayushi of Shree Mahavir Jain Sr. Sec.School secured the first position
The valedictory ceremony witnessed the announcement of results, celebrating the brilliance of young achievers. In the event Best out of Waste, Ayushi of Shree Mahavir Jain Sr. Sec.School secured the first position, Goonj of United Christian Girls Sr. Sec. School secured the second position, the third position was jointly grabbed by Sonakshi & Vaishnavi of Shiv Devi Girls High school and Ronish of Sai Dass Sr. Sec. School. In Poster Making Competition, Laksh of Sant Raghbir Singh AIMS Sr.sec.school stood first, Taruna of Lala Jagat Narayan DAV Model school stood second & Bhavna of A.N. Gujaral Sr.sec school and Vansh of Dayanand Model Sr. Sec. School stood third.
In Rangoli Competition, Raja Ram and Dhara of Lala Jagat Narayan DAV Model school stood first, Rohit and Ashish of sain Dass AS Sr.sec. school stood second and Bhavika & Nidhi Sharma of Shiv Jyoti Public school and Anshika & Paras of Sant Raghbir Singh AIMS Sr.Sec. school stood third. In Science Model Competition, Avika and Manika of Dayanand Model Sr. Sec. School secured the first position, Janvi & Keerti of Shiv Devi Girls High school second , Lovepreet & Kunal of School of Eminence secured the third position and the consolation prize was won by Sumit and Rahul of A. N. Gujral Sr. Sec. school.
In Dance competition, Divyanshi of Dayanand Model Sr Sec school won first
In Singing competition, Anshuman of St. Soldier School and Dhanu of Dayanand Model Sr Sec school both won the first prize, Japneet Kaur of Shiv Devi Girls High school won the second prize and Jaisika of Shiv Parvati Jain Sr Sec school won the third prize. In Dance competition, Divyanshi of Dayanand Model Sr Sec school won first, Roopsandeep kaur of Shiv Devi Girls High School second and Komal of Guru Harikrishan Public school won the third prize. Dayanand Model Sr Sec school proudly bagged the trophy of Prayaas – 2025 Overall Winner.
The atmosphere turned festive with melodious singing and captivating dance performances that added rhythm and radiance to the occasion. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs Arvinder Kaur, School Co- Coordinator, who appreciated the collective efforts of students, teachers, and the organizing committee for making “Prayaas – Searching Gems” a memorable success. The stage was deftly conducted by Ms Rashmi Sethi & Ms Sukriti Sharma. The day beautifully reflected the school’s commitment to holistic education — nurturing not only intellect but also imagination, artistry, and the joy of learning.
