HMV Collegiate

Jalandhar November 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The break you take from work pay you back manifold with a fresher mind and newer thinking. Considering the importance of learning beyond the four walls of classroom and to enable students to have enriched experience a one- day trip to vibrant city, Chandigarh was organized by HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School under the dynamic guidance of Principal Dr (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Total 176 students of SSC-I and SSC-II participated in the trip. The sightseeing included Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden and Elante Mall. The students felt immensely delighted to step into a world of enchantment where the shimmering waters of Sukhna Lake weave a magical tapestry of serenity and splendour.

Thereafter, students visited Rock Garden, which was again a delighting experience to see creative stuff made out of recycled material spread over an area of 40 acres. The complex interlinked courtyards were filled with hundreds of pottery- covered concrete sculptures of dancers, musicians and animals which held the students captive throughout. After it, the students had shopping spree at Elante Mall, the largest shopping mall in Northern India and the third largest in India. The students captured the moments by clicking selfies and photographs with their friends.

Stressing upon the important of educational trips, Principal Dr. Sareen said that an interest driven learning experience always offers better results than curriculum driven experiences. School Coordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha also encouraged the students to acquire a more integrated information through new experiences. The excursion was coordinated by Mrs. Arvinder kaur and faculty members of Collegiate School Mrs. Anuradha Thakur, Ms. Rashmi Sethi, Ms. Vandana Sethi, Ms. Sukriti, Ms. Palak and Ms. Divya accompanied the students in the trip.
