Jalandhar February 12 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated the 200th Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Ji under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Principal Dr. Sareen said that Maharishi’s birthday should be celebrated as “Gyan Utsav”. His words are like lessons for others. His literature is guiding lamp for all of us. Students of all the streams should learn from his life. She appreciated the efforts of Vedic Adjyan Samiti, Arya Yuvti Sabha and Sanskrit Department for organizing this ceremony. On this occasion, a series of events were organized to mark the celebration.
Principal Dr. Sareen congratulated the winners of various competitions and encouraged them. She thanked Dr. Jyoti Khanna, Principal Santoor International School for her address. A Poster Making Competition was also organized in which more than 40 students participated. Deepika stood first, Pooja stood second and Sunaina stood third in this competition. A declamation contest on the contribution of Maharishi Dayanand, his life, importance of his teachings in modern day world was also organized in which 20 students took part. Anchal, Jhanvi, Muskan stood 1st , 2nd and 3rd respectively and Aditi and Rashmi won consolation prize.
In her address Dr. Jyoti Khanna said that it was curiosity of Maharishi that converted Mulshankar into Maharishi Dayanand. She said that everyone should be curious and follow the path of truth and righteousness in life. Head of Sanskrit Department Dr. Meenu Talwar shared the views of Maharishi with the students. Stage was conducted by Dr. Jyoti Gogia. Incharge Vedic Adhyan Samiti Dr. Mamta thanked all. On this occasion Secretary and Joint Secretary of Arya Yuvti Sabha, Mrs. Pawan Kumari and Dr. Deepti Dhir were also present.
