Jalandhar January 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The 50th College Fete 2025 was organized at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, under the effective leadership of Principal Prof.Dr. Pooja Prashar.
Mr. Avinav Chopra, Director, Punjab Kesari Group, and his wife, Mrs. Sana Chopra, were the chief guests of the day, who gratified us with their magnificent presence. President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, Shri Raman Budhia, Mrs. Chander Mohini Markanda, Shri T.N. Lama, Shri D.K. Joshi, Shri Parmod Chopra, Shri Satish Dada, and Dr. Kiran Arora were the esteemed members of the managing committee who graced the event.
The event commenced with a floral welcome of the chief guest, Mr. Avinav Chopra, and his wife, Mrs. Sana Chopra, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The Department of Music initiated the event with a soulful Saraswati Vandana. Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar extended a warm and cordial welcome to the revered guests. The chief guest addressed the audience with his vivacious speech, emphasizing that women should be empowered and confident, leading a life of dignity and moral values, while teachers should serve as role models for their students.
The guests reveled in the splendid cultural bonanza prepared by the students of the Department of Dance in the form of Sammi Dance. The chief guest declared the fete open and took a round of the delightful food stalls, fun games, and grooming station. Students from the Department of Fashion Designing and Cosmetology set up their own stalls of handmade and jewelry items under the Earn While You Learn scheme. A separate stall was also put up by the State Bank of India, Mandi Fenton Ganj.

The much-anticipated Raffle Draw was a major highlight of the evening. During this session, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada ji was given a floral welcome. A special token of love and floral welcome were also presented to Mr. Inderpal Singh Kalra, Regional Manager, SBI, Jalandhar, and Mrs. Narinder Kaur, Branch Manager, SBI, Fenton Ganj, Jalandhar, who were the sponsors of the draw. Winners were announced and prizes were given to them.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking the formal closure of the fete. President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice-President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee, and Principal Prof.Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners. Special appreciation was extended to the in-charge of the fete, Mrs. Sunita Bhalla, and her dedicated team for their commendable efforts in making the event a grand success.
