Jalandhar March 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Career Counseling and Placement Cell in association with the PG Department of English and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized an extension lecture on the topic “Career Opportunities for Students in the Field of Literature and Language.” The resource person for the lecture was Dr. Narinder K. Sharma from the Department of English, School of Languages, Literature and Culture at the Central University of Punjab. Addressing the students, Dr. Sharma elaborated on the diverse career avenues available to students of literature and language, including teaching, research, translation, content writing, media, publishing, civil services and other emerging interdisciplinary fields.

He encouraged the students to enhance their communication and analytical skills and to remain open to new opportunities in the evolving professional landscape.On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such academic interactions in guiding students toward meaningful career choices. Earlier, the Convener of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell, Dr. Charanjit Singh, formally welcomed the resource person and apprised the students of the various services and guidance provided by the Cell to help them plan their careers effectively.

Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehel, Dr. Jyoti Vohra and Prof. Ritika, members of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell; Prof. Sandeep Ahuja, In-charge of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication; Prof. Rajat Kaur from the same department; Dr. Manmeet Kaur Sodhi, Dr. Geetanzali Mahajan and Dr. Manju Joshi from the Department of English; Dr. Harjit Singh, Head of the Department of Mathematics; and Dr. Simranjit Singh Bains, Head of the Department of Economics.

The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by Dr. Daljit Kaur from the Department of Computer Science and IT. The lecture concluded with an interactive session in which students actively engaged with the resource person and sought guidance regarding career prospects in the fields of literature and language.
