Jalandhar May 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, hosted a grand closing ceremony to mark the successful conclusion of its three-week Free Skill Enhancement Programme for students who have recently finished their 12th grade. Designed to nurture creative expression and technical proficiency, the initiative offered students a vibrant platform to discover and develop their potential beyond the classroom.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed heartfelt pride and appreciation. She noted that the programme held added significance as it aligned with the college’s golden jubilee celebrations. “This milestone year is deeply meaningful for us,” she said. “Our institution has grown by preserving its rich cultural heritage while embracing innovation—an ethos inspired by the guiding vision of our revered founder Chairman Dr. Stya Paul ji.”
She further acknowledged the unwavering leadership of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, President, Apeejay Education and Apeejay Stya &Svran Group, and Dr. Neha Berlia, Co-Owner and Director, whose vision continues to steer the institution toward holistic excellence. “At Apeejay, we believe education must transcend classroom boundaries. These skill enhancement classes exemplify our commitment to nurturing every facet of a student’s personality. I am immensely proud of each participant for embracing this journey with creativity and confidence. The way our students have stepped out of their comfort zones and performed today reflects the leadership, talent, and spirit we aim to cultivate,” she remarked.
The college’s commitment to skill development was recently recognized at a national level, as it received the prestigious ‘Best Institute for Excellence in Higher Education and Skill Enhancement – 2024’ award from ON Education and Acer.

Students from the Design and Fine Arts streams showcased a thoughtfully curated exhibition featuring portraits, cushion covers, tie-and-dye fabrics, block and printed kurtas, artistic earrings, decorative lamp shades, and other elegant home décor products. Principal Dr. Dhingra, along with the faculty, lauded the students’ innovation, technique, and artistic finesse.
The cultural segment added vibrancy to the event. Amarjit Singh delivered the Thought of the Day, followed by a spirited Indo-Western dance fusion by Ananya, Aashna, and Pratiksha. Rishabh’s evocative poetry, stories shared by Mokshika and Aayushi, and soulful songs by Rahul and Piyush resonated deeply with the audience. Students Kashika, Tanya Batra, Ridham, Harsimar, and Tanvi shared reflections on their experiences, emphasizing the transformative energy of the college and the nurturing mentorship of the faculty.
Sharing insights into the college’s legacy of excellence, Ms. Rajni Kumar of Department of Design highlighted that Apeejay College has consistently achieved top distinctions not only in academics, but also in cultural activities and sports. She reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to sustaining its reputation of all-round excellence.
The event’s seamless flow was a result of the commendable efforts of student anchors Shrishti, Siya, Japanaz, and Agam, who managed the stage with poise and professionalism. The ceremony concluded with Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra presenting certificates of participation to all students and extending special appreciation to Dr. Supreet Talwar, Dr. Seema Sharma, and Ms. Rajni Gupta for their outstanding contribution to the success of the programme.
