Jalandhar June 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Eco Club of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, organized various activities on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The Eco Club of the college is supported by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, GOI under Environment Education Programme, State Nodal Agency Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and CDC, GNDU.
Activities included Awareness Session, in collaboration with Energy Swaraj Foundation (under Finite Earth Movement), Tree Plantation Drive and Quiz on Environment Awareness, in collaboration with National EduTrust of India.
The events received motivation from Pollution Control Board, which is working under Ministry of Environment’s able guidance.
The event successfully raised awareness about environmental concerns and highlighted the role of co-operation among individuals, academic institutions and society in finding solution.
President of Governing Body, Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada and Principal, Dr. Pooja Prashar lauded the efforts of Eco Club members in organising such impactful activities.
Dr. Divya Budhia Gupta and Mrs. Shveta Mahajan (In-Charges of the Eco Club) put in a lot of effort to conduct the activity. Dr. Jyoti Sharma and other faculty members helped in organising the event in an effective way.
The celebration served as a vibrant platform to ignite environmental consciousness among students and staff alike. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, participants were encouraged to reflect on their ecological footprint and take meaningful steps towards sustainability. The collaborative spirit among partner organizations, faculty, and students showcased the power of collective action in addressing pressing environmental challenges. The day’s events not only enriched environmental knowledge but also fostered a sense of responsibility and commitment towards preserving the planet for future generations.
