Jalandhar March 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Dr. Vishav Bandhu Verma, Head of the Department of History at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, has been conferred the prestigious “Best Student of the Year” award in the discipline of History at the Annual Function of Shivaji Arts and Commerce College, Amravati (Maharashtra).
The honour was bestowed upon him in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement on the successful completion of his Ph.D.
Dr. Verma earned his doctoral degree from Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati (Maharashtra). His doctoral research, titled “Sikh Rule under Banda Singh Bahadur (1670–1716),” presents an in-depth historical analysis of the Sikh polity established under the leadership of Banda Singh Bahadur. The study meticulously examines the historical background of his rule, the administrative framework, military organization, and its far-reaching socio-economic impact.
On the same occasion, Dr. Verma also delivered an insightful research presentation at a One-Day National Seminar organized by the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities of Shivaji Arts and Commerce College. His paper, titled “Aspiration and Reality: India’s Geostrategic Emergence and Socio-Economic Transformation in the Journey towards Viksit Bharat @2047,” was widely appreciated for its scholarly depth and contemporary relevance. The paper has been selected for publication in the college’s research journal “Research Awakening,” reflecting the academic merit and significance of his work.
Expressing immense pride on this accomplishment, the Principal of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, extended her heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Verma. She remarked that such scholarly milestones exemplify intellectual commitment and academic perseverance and expressed confidence that Dr. Verma will continue to elevate the institution’s academic stature through his research contributions at both national and international forums.
