Jalandhar April 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, commemorated the 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar with great reverence and enthusiasm. The Political Science Forum organized a short documentary screening followed by a panel discussion under the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla. The documentary highlighted significant phases of Dr. Ambedkar’s life, including his childhood, professional struggles, political journey, particularly the discourse on Gandhi vs Ambedkar and his monumental role as the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Students from various streams and classes participated enthusiastically in the panel discussion. The themes deliberated upon included “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: Life and Contributions” and “The Architect of Change: Socio-Political Vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.” Panelists Palak (B.A. Sem VI), Vishav Kirti (B.A. Sem VI), Simranjit Kaur (B.A. Sem IV), and Tanvi (B.A. Sem II) eloquently expressed their views on Dr. Ambedkar’s life, contributions, and visionary socio-political ideals. The students highlighted his pivotal role in shaping modern India, his relentless struggle for social justice, his emphasis on education, and his unwavering commitment to equality and an inclusive democratic society.

Dr. Jiwan Devi, Assistant Professor in Political Science and In-charge of the Political Science Forum, also congratulated the participants for their commendable efforts. The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, marking a respectful and memorable tribute to one of India’s greatest nation-builders.
