Jalandhar April 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Department of Political Science of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, organised an Essay Writing competition on the topic “Importance of Voting.” The event aimed to instill a sense of responsibility among students to vote independently, devoid of any influence from factors such as caste, religion, gender, and language, while emphasizing their role as conscientious citizens.
During the event, Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur, Assistant Professor in Political Science, delivered an enlightening talk on how voting empowers citizens to actively engage in governance and hold authorities accountable.
Aastha, Navjot, and Amisha secured first, second and third positions respectively in the competition.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice-President Shri Vinod Dada, esteemed members of the managing committee and Principal, Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar, lauded the department for organizing such a meaningful event which underscored the significance of making informed voting decisions and urged everyone to exercise their right to vote responsibly.
