Jalandhar February 9 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at DAV University launched the Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme. The initiative aimed at nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among its students was initiated under the aegis of DAV University Incubation Centre with the support of Startup Punjab, a key agency under the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Punjab. The programme’s launch marked a significant step in equipping students with essential business and innovation skills.
During the inaugural session, Mr M J Kalra, a seasoned entrepreneur, shared invaluable insights gleaned from his entrepreneurial journey with participants. In his talk “Introduction to Entrepreneurship”, Mr Kalra emphasized the importance of identifying the unmet needs of consumers and crafting innovative solutions to address them. His discourse sparked dynamic interaction with the audience and offered perspectives on various facets of entrepreneurship during a question-answer session.
Dr. Sandeep Vij, President of IIC, underscored the council’s commitment to organizing sessions on idea generation, market readiness, funding avenues, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), besides facilitating platforms for pitching entrepreneurial ideas.
Dr. Girish Taneja, the Incubator Manager, urged students to leverage the insights shared by Mr Kalra and collaborate with their peers to incubate and launch their ventures.
The Vice Chancellor of DAV University Dr. Manoj Kumar encouraged students to explore and pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations. He emphasised that the Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme signified the university’s dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and empowering the next generation of business leaders.
