Apeeyaite Harsifat Kaur Conferred Chancellor’s Gold Medal by Governor of Punjab

Jalandhar July 15 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Harsifat Kaur, an M.A. Music (Vocal) IIIrd semester student of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, has been conferred the prestigious Chancellor’s Gold Medal by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, in recognition of her exceptional artistic talent, discipline, and dedication. The award has been instituted for the first time by the Senate and Syndicate of Guru Nanak Dev University.

Congratulating Harsifat Kaur on this remarkable achievement, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that the college provides every possible platform for emerging students in the field of art to help them hone their skills and reach great heights. She added that through Harsifat’s consistently outstanding performance over the past three years, she has exemplified versatility, unwavering determination, discipline, and artistic excellence — an achievement that will serve as a source of inspiration for the entire student community.

Harsifat Kaur credited this achievement to the guidance and support of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chairman, ApeejayEducation, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra. Dr Dhingra said that the college is committed to providing its students who are budding artists with numerous opportunities to showcase their talent, thereby enabling them to confidently deliver their best performances and establish their prowess not only at the Zonal, Inter-Zonal and North Zone levels but also at the National-level Youth Festivals.

During the academic sessions 2022–23, 2023–24, and 2024–25, Harsifat Kaur brought laurels to the University and the College through her outstanding performances at the Zonal, Inter-Zonal, North Zone, and National Youth Festivals. She secured numerous first positions and other distinguished honours in events including Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song, Indian Group Song, Group Bhajan, and Geet-Ghazal, thereby enhancing the University’s reputation at the national level.

Harsifat also credited this prestigious honour to the constant encouragement, guidance, and dedicated efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra, Cultural Coordinator of the College, Dr. Amita Mishra, Dean, Youth Welfare Department, and Dr. Anadi Mishra. She said that their unwavering support and mentorship played a pivotal role in helping her achieve this milestone.
