Apeejayitea went on Educational, Spiritual and Cultural Excursion to Vrindavan and Surajkund Fair

Jalandhar February 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The INTACH Heritage Club of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, organised an enriching educational, spiritual and cultural excursion to Vrindavan and Surajkund fair in Faridabad. This college excursion was aimed at seeking blessings from the Almighty at the beginning of the golden jubilee years of its establishment. It provided students spiritual enlightenment and first-hand exposure to India’s rich cultural heritage.

A group of 42 students, accompanied by three faculty members, embarked on this journey to explore iconic historical sites, bustling markets, and the vibrant Surajkund Fair. The trip was meticulously coordinated under the guidance of Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra and Ms. Rajni Kumar (Dean, Heritage Club). This excursion was managed and organised by Mr. Vishav Bandhu Verma (INTACH Member), accompanied by Ms. Tanya and Ms. Jasleen Kaur.

Students immersed themselves in spiritual atmosphere, visiting revered temples

In Vrindavan, the students immersed themselves in spiritual atmosphere, visiting revered temples such as Shri Banke Bihari Ji, Radha Raman, Radha-Vallabh Ji, Prem Mandir, Nidhivan and ISCKON and experiencing the divine energy of the town. The mesmerizing aartis, soulful bhajans and historical significance of temples left a profound impact on them. They gained insights into India’s deep-rooted traditions, aesthetic values and felt spirituality, making the visit both educational and spiritually uplifting.

After spending two days in Vrindavan, the journey continued to Surajkund, a fair renowned worldwide for its International art and cultural exhibitions where students got captivated by the vibrant display of India’s diverse handicrafts, folk performances, and traditional art forms. They interacted with renowned artisans from different states, learning about indigenous crafts, pottery, textiles, woodwork, glasswork and handlooms. This fair was an eye-opening experience, showcasing the artistic brilliance of India’s cultural landscape.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra while expressing her views on this excursion said “At Apeejay we ensure that the learning experience of the students is not just limited to books and classrooms but also explore around when it is possible and experience and learn about rich Indian spiritual and culture”. She also acknowledged the efforts of all the members of INTACH Heritage club of the college.
