Jalandhar March 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar under the aegis of Apeejay Education, is set to commemorate its Golden Jubilee alongside the Sixth Rajeshwari Kala Mahotsav from April 2 to April 5, 2025. This grand celebration of art and culture will showcase a diverse spectrum of artistic traditions while honoring the institution’s 50-year legacy.
Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director of Apeejay Education, Jalandhar, and Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, shared insights into the key highlights of the festival. They expressed their deep honor in announcing that Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, and Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson of Apeejay Education, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, will inaugurate the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Reflecting on the institution’s remarkable journey, they remarked that the Rajeshwari Kala Sangam, which began as a humble initiative to preserve and promote fine and performing arts, has flourished into Apeejay College of Fine Arts, an institution of excellence that continues to uphold its founding vision even after 50 years.
Dr. Sucharita Sharma emphasized that the Sixth Rajeshwari Kala Mahotsav is a step towards realizing the vision of Dr. Stya Paul, Founder Chairman of Apeejay Education. This initiative aims to revive and promote India’s rich artistic heritage, particularly endangered art forms such as Warli Art, Gond Art, Miniature Painting, Madhubani Painting, Kharar Weaving, Pipli, Pottery, Terracotta, Sculpture, Block Printing, Wood Carving, and Wood Inlay.

The event will feature celebrated artists from across India, including Padma Shri awardees from Odisha, West Bengal, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh, who will showcase their exceptional craftsmanship.
Dr. Sharma further shared that Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia strongly believes that nurturing youth engagement in traditional arts and heritage will not only help preserve cultural roots but also contribute to the nation’s artistic and economic development.
As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the college is hosting an exclusive exhibition featuring the works of renowned artists who have previously graced the institution, an inter-state craft fair to promote indigenous art forms, and a five-day workshop aimed at connecting young artists with India’s vanishing art traditions.
Adding to the grandeur of the event, Padma Shri awardee and renowned folk singer, Mrs. Malini Awasthi, will mesmerize the audience with her soulful renditions, bringing a vibrant musical touch to the celebrations.
