Jalandhar October 9 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NSS Wing, Department of Design, and Department of Fashion Makeover of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar jointly organized a vibrant Diwali Mela on the college premises. The celebration beautifully blended festivity with creativity, bringing together students, faculty, and visitors in a joyous atmosphere.

The Mela featured 35 creatively curated stalls, including those on home décor, nail art, mehndi, accessories, food, and soft drinks. Each stall reflected the artistic spirit and entrepreneurial talent of the students, making the campus buzz with enthusiasm and colour. This Diwali Mela also served as one of the many platforms that Apeejay College of Fine Arts provides to its students under the ‘Earn while Learn’ scheme, allowing them to apply their creative skills in practical ways while gaining valuable learning experience.

The event was graced by Ms. Jyoti Bala Mattu PCS , Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Hoshiarpur, as the Chief Guest and Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director, Apeejay Education, was present as Guest of Honour on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Mattu expressed her admiration for the students’ creativity and the college’s dynamic learning environment. She appreciated the students for setting up the stalls with such innovation and skill, adding that the institution truly signifies creativity. Reminiscing about her own college days, she expressed joy in witnessing such lively participation and extended her compliments to the management for fostering a culture that encourages artistic expression.

Dr. Sucharita too extended warm Diwali wishes to everyone present, remarking that the festival is a celebration of light, positivity, and creativity — qualities that Apeejay students embody through their artistic endeavours.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. NeerjaDhingra, Principal of the college, lauded the students’ talent and dedication. She highlighted that the mentors at Apeejay continually design innovative ways to nurture students’ imagination and skill, helping them think beyond conventional boundaries.

Dr. Dhingra also appreciated Dr. Simkee, Dean, NSS Wing; Ms.Rajni Kumar Department of Interiors and Ms.MeenalSandhu, Department of Fashion Makeover, for their commendable efforts in organizing the event seamlessly and making it a grand success.

The Diwali Mela truly reflected Apeejay’s ethos of blending tradition with creativity, celebrating learning through joy, innovation, and festive spirit.
