Apeejay College of Fine Arts organized Talent Hunt for the new comers on the occasion of International Teachers’ Day

Jalandhar September 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A 2 day Talent Hunt, a platform for the freshers to show case the talent, was organized at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. The new comers from different departments of the college participated in it which gave them a platform to perform, showcase their talent and at the same time shed off their stage fear and boost confidence.

On the first day of the Talent Hunt, several competitions were organized as Poetry Recitation, Extempore Speech, Debate, Elocution, Anecdote Narration, Cartooning, Collage making, Clay- modelling, Photography, On the spot Painting, Rangoli, Installation, Mehendi, Phulkari, Poster- Making were organized.

The students brilliantly performed in these multiple competitions and the first three postions holders were given certificates and prizes.

On the second day of the Talent Hunt, the stage items as – Music Vocal, Music Instrumental, Theatre and Dance were organised. The second day began with lamp lightening by Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra. Addressing the students, Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that she feels joyous to see the enthusiasm of the students and added ACFA’s stage is known for giving birth to the stars and legends and the history has been created by those who once stood and performed on this stage. She added Talent Hunt is organized each year to give a paltform to the budding students which helps them to recognise their talents and nourish it and also work on their flaws and shortcomings.

Also, since it was an auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day, Madam Principal Dr. Dhingra read the speech of Madam Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia (President, Apeejay Education). The message said that teachers are the one who contribute in nation building and have a heavy responsibility to show the right path to its students. Madam Berlia’s message emphasized that our nation is rising and shining at the global level and is achieving accolades in all the fields. The mentors and teachers play a vital role in this achievement.

On the second day also, the students shone on the stage and in the Music Instrumental ; Nishay Kumar( MA 1) bagged 1st position in Guitar, Varunjeet Singh (MA 1) bagged 1st position in Classical Instrumental Sr. (Taus); Sukhraj( B.Voc. Sound Tech 1) bagged 1st position and Mohit Bhatti bagged 2nd position in the category Keyboard/Harmonium.

Along with them, Kushaldeep and Rahul bagged 1st and 2nd position respectively in Western String Instrumental Jr. (GUITAR).

In Folk Instrumental (Dhol); Diya (Ba sem 3) and Dilpreet (BA Sem1) bagged 1st nd 2nd positions respectively. In Classical Instrumental (Taal Vadya, Tabla), Sukhwinder Singh (BCA 1) bagged 1st position.

In Music Vocal – Category – Punjabi Songs; Sukhraj (B.Voc. Sem 1), Ramneek (BA Sem 1), Rajdeep (B.Voc. Sem 1) and Anurag (BA Sem 1) bagged 1st position and Armaan and Dilpreet of BA Sem 1 bagged 2nd positions.

In the category- Bollywood Songs; Kamil (MFA 1), Vaibhav (B.Voc Sem 1), Arshdeep (BA Sem 1) and Jitender (MA Sem 1) and Kushaldeep (BBA 1) bagged 1st position and Bhumika (BA SEM 3), Komal ( B.Com 1), Gazal (B com. 1) and Diya Kapoor (BA SEM 1) bagged 2nd positions.

In the category, Punjabi Sufi & Devotional; Durlabh and Raghav of BA sem 1 bagged 1st position and in Western category, Rahul (BA Sem 1) bagged 1st position and Elien (B.Voc. Sem 1) bagged 2nd position.

In Group dance (Folk); Gomsy and group bagged first position. Also, Harman and group bagged first position. Reet and group and Gurkamal and group bagged second position and Simran and secured the third position.

In Bollywood Dance category, Nisha and Paras bagged 1st and 2nd positions respectively.

In Semi classical Dance, Samaira stood first, Jiya stood second and Prinjal stood third.

In Folk Dance, Diya bagged first position, Aarti bagged second position and Yashika bagged third position respectively and Tushar was given consolation prize.

Also, Shobhana bagged 1st position in Classical dance.

In Theatre category, Play – 9 students of BBA SEM 1 bagged 1st position with their exceptional performance in the play titled – Bhay se Bhakti tak and in Mimicry, Zorawar bagged 1st position.

In quiz competition, Kabir, Manit, Garv and Vanshika bagged the top position.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra (Observer & Cultural Coordinator), Dr. Amita Mishra (Dean, Youth Festivals) and Dr. Monica Anand (Dean, Functions) and Dr. Payal Arora for the success of the programme.
