Apeejay College of Fine Arts organized FDP on ‘Mental Hygiene’

Jalandhar May 30 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar always prioritize the holistic and all-round development of its students as well as faculty members.

A Faculty Development Programme on ‘Mental Hygiene‘ was organized with the courtesy of IQAC cell of the college. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while expressing her views on the importance of Mental Hygiene said that in the modern era, everyone has to bear the brunt of a lot of mental pressure these days. It is very important for the mental health of nation-building teachers to be good because through their knowledge, students can contribute to the development of the society while building their future and fulfilling their social responsibilities.

In this faculty development programme, Ms. Niharika Majumdar and Ms Harpreet Kaur from Department of Psychology were present as Resource persons. They shared their views on the well being of mental health. Along with discussing the science of maintaining mental health, they also talked about mental disorders. They discussed the importance of mental health in life, various aspects of dealing with mental disorders, being emotionally strong and living a stress-free life and mentioned that there are many educational programmes to maintain mental health.

They added that if we live our life by being aware, we can keep the mind calm and live a good life. Through this we can contribute not only to our own welfare but also to the welfare of our family and society.

The importance of meditation to maintain mental health was also encouraged in this session.

Dr. Dhingra appreciated Ms. Niharika and Ms. Harpreet for the successful presentation on this topic. She also acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Anjana Kumari and Dr. Payal Arora for successfully organizing it.
