Apeejay College of Fine Arts organised Second annual exhibition – ‘Visual Saga The Foto Stories’ was inaugurated at Virsa Vihar, Jalandhar

Jalandhar May 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar continues to contribute significantly to the progress of performing and visual arts. The Department of Applied Art organized Second annual Exhibition ‘Visual Gatha The Foto Stories’ at Dr. Stya Paul Art Gallery under the direction of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, Chairman, Apeejay Education, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group.

Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University was present as the Chief Guest in this exhibition. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, warmly welcomed her and said she has a keen eye for Fine arts and has always made a wonderful contribution in this field and her presence is a matter of good fortune for us.

Expressing her views on the significance of this exhibition, Dr. Dhingra said that 55 students and teachers of the Department of Applied Art had participated in this exhibition. The objective of this exhibition is to provide a platform to the emerging artists through which they can showcase their art and further improve it.

Through this exhibition, teachers and students have tried to express various subjects like people, nature, architectural marvel, street life, spirituality, divinity, human emotions and struggles through photographs. In this exhibition, through the travelogue ‘Khoj’, the teachers of Applied Art and Design Department who had been to various places; captured the culture, lifestyle of the people, their experiences through artistic beauty of the camera.

Dr. Sucharita Sharma expressing her views on this occasion said that with the inspiration of our founder President Dr. Stya Paul ji and the foresightedness of his daughter Mrs. Sushma Berlia , they have been able to contribute in the betterment of art and culture. She added the college professors inspire the young generation to imbibe every aspect of art and these beautiful photographs of different emotions of the human mind and various historical places in the visual saga. She said that every photograph expresses the personality and state of mind of the person taking it. She also congratulated the students who had received special honours.

The students who got honoured for clicking the best photos in this exhibition were Tarannum’s ‘Shiv Kapali’, Tegbir Singh’s ‘Wings over Water’, Jashan Saini’s ‘Sailing through Serenity’, Nandini Handa’s ‘Echoes of the Past: A Journey through History’, Shivalika Bansal’s ‘Buildings , Watery Twin’, and Rakshit Raj’s Soaked in Sunlight.

For the immense success of the exhibition, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated the Chief guest, Dr. Sucharita Sharma, judge of this exhibition and also expressed gratitude to Mr. Shrestha Jain and Harman, President of Photography Club Jalandhar Kamaljeet Bhatia, General Secretary, Mr. SandeepTaneja and PRO Mr. Raj and Founder Member- Mr. Arvindra Pal Singh. She also congratulated Mr. Anil Gupta, Head, Department of Applied Art, Mr. Vikram and Mr. Kunj Arora for the immense success of the exhibition.

This exhibition will be held from 14th till 17th May from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm.
