Jalandhar February 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A three day Dance workshop was organized by the PG Department of Dance at Apeejay College of Fine Arts Jalandhar. Internationally renowned Kathak dancer Shri Dheerendra Tiwari was present in this dance workshop as the Resource Person. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, warmly welcomed Mr. Tiwari and said, ” I am certain that our students will learn a lot of new things from his experience and gain insight and practical knowledge of Kathak.”
She added that our founder president late Dr. Stya Paul ji always wanted to popularize Indian Classical Dance forms in performing arts and now under the guidance of Dr. Sushma Paul Berlia, President, Apeejay Education, our endeavor is to invite internationally renowned artists to our college and give the students an opportunity to learn something new by providing them opportunities.
Shri Dheerendra Tiwari has been continuously learning from the famous Kathak pioneer of Jaipur Gharana, Guru Pandit Rajendra Gangani Ji as a disciple for 22 years. Dhirendra Tiwari, who has been doing Kathak dance for the last 25 years, has also presented Kathak at various dance festivals at national and international level like Darbar Festival London, Sankat mochan Music Festival Varanasi, Edinburgh International Dance Festivals Scotland, Oz Asia Dance Festival Australia.
