Jalandhar September 28 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Department of Applied Art of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organized a 2 day event Khoj – Unleash your Creativity.

The Department organized various competitions as Tape a Tale, Poster Making, Cartooning & Illustration, Instagram Reel Making, Photography and Treasure Hunt.

On the Final day of Khoj 2024, Mr. Parth Munish Kakkar was present as a Chief Guest. Mr. Kakkar is the founder of two companies – PMK Films and PMK Media. He is an alumnus of Apeejay and has finished has studied at MET Film School, London. Currently he has established himself as a renowned filmmaker and photographer.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) expressed her ecstasy seeing the enthusiasm of the students who participate in all the activities. She said the college provides these platforms and organizes these various events so that they can become all rounders and seeing students actively participating in these events make it worth. About World Tourism Day, Dr. Dhingra said, Travelling around the globe should one of the life goals of everyone especially our youth for it teaches one a lot. The kind of exposure and experience one has during travelling, it certainly makes one’s personality. A person gets to know their shortcomings and skills.

Mr. Parth expressed his gratitude for the invitation and admired students’ efforts and encouraged them to pursue their passion and turn it into profession as he himself has done.

Students from all the departments of College participated in KHOJ 2024 and with their exceptional performances won the prizes.

In Instagram Reel making, for which the judgement was given by Mr. Rajesh Kalsi and Mr. Parth Munish Kakkar; Kanchan, Priyanshu Virmani, Shivalika bagged the top three prizes respectively.

In Photography, judged by Mr. Rajesh Kalsi and Mr. Parth Munish Kakkar; Dikha Dhiman, Kamil Mughal, Kunwar pal Singh bagged the top three prizes respectively and Kanchan was given consolation prize.

In Cartooning & Illustration, the judgement was given by Mr. Vikram and Mr. Manoj and top three prizes were bagged by Aashi, Kanchan and Nisar Akhtar Gul respectively.

For Poster making, the judges were Mr. Vikram and Mr. Manoj and the first three positions were bagged by Abhishek Bhatia, Tamanna Mahajan and Diya Talwar.

In Treasure Hunt, the team comprised of Loveleen, Mehakpreet, Amanpreet, Nikita grabbed the first position. The team of Piyush, Mansi, Piyush and Lovish grabbed the second prize and Yuvika, Subnoor, Tanya and Asees won the third prize.

For Tape a Tale, the judges were Ms. Chetna and Mr. Gurvinder and top 3 positions were grabbed by Diya Talwar, Aarushi and Shivalika.

Also, a token of gratitude was presented to Mr. Parth on this occasion. Mr. Anil Gulta presented the Vote of Thanks formally and thanked everyone for their contribution. Ms. Lovepreet (Department of Punjabi) handled the stage gracefully.

Dr. Dhingra acknowledged the efforts of the organisers of KHOJ. She admired Mr. Anil Gupta (Head, Department of Applied Art), Mr. Vikram, Mr. Manoj, Mr. Kunj and Ms. Apoorva for guiding the students and providing them this opportunity to unleash their creativity.
