Jalandhar February 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar observed World Radio Day.
The students visited Radio Mirchi where they met RJ Pearl and RJ Shubham. Both of them introduced students to the techniques of working in radio and explained its working in detail. The students also made reels and vlogs and interacted on various topics related to Radio with the hosts.
Visiting the office of Radio Mirchi proved to be very beneficial for students for it aquainted them with the working style of Radio hosts and also they became aware of the options of career that one can choose in this field.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said “On this World Radio Day, we celebrate one of the most powerful mediums of communication—radio. It has played a crucial role in spreading knowledge, promoting culture, and strengthening social connections across the globe. Even in the digital era, radio remains a reliable source of information, especially in remote areas where internet access is limited.” She added that at Apeejay our prime endeavor is to give students the right kind of exposure of their field for we believe that along with the traditional classroom teaching, the practical experience is of utmost importance.
Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Ms. Ritu Sohal and Ms. Kirandeep of Department of JMC for successfully organizing this edutainment tour.
