Apeejay College of Fine Arts observed International mother language Day

Jalandhar February 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Languages of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar observed International mother language Day. Various competitions like – Poetry-recitation, Story- telling, Elocution were organized. The common theme of these competitions was to share the importance of mother tongue and importance of language in general.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while expressing her views on this day, said, “Our college is an ocean of talent and it is a home of many artists. The quality education that ACFA provides ensures the grooming and honing of budding poets and debators and such competitions provide them a platform to showcase their skills.”

She congratulated the students who performed best in these competitions and awarded them with the certificates.

In Poetry recitation competition, Khushi Sharma stood first, Shobhana Aggarwal stood second, Aditi Kashyap stood third and Diya Talwar got the Consolation prize.

In Elocution, Siddharth Cheema stood first, Gurusahib Singh Thind stood second, Germanjit Singh and Pragya stood third and Vanshika Kochhar received the consolation prize. In Story- telling, Rajat stood first, Bhavini stood second and Shivanshi Khanna stood third.

Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Anjana Kumari, Ms Lovepreet Kaur and Ms Anuradha for successfully organizing these competitions.
