Jalandhar May 4 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar held a 3 week Certificate Course in Communicative English and Soft Skills free of cost for the students of 12th standard. The students of various schools in and around the city enrolled in it and reaped the maximum benefits of this golden opportunity

In these classes, Ms Jaspreet Kaur and Ms Pallak Saini from Department of English acquainted the students with the importance of verbal and non-verbal communication. Various activities were done in these classes in order to improve their communication skills like Pictionary, spell bee, extempore, 2 minute monologue, calling and messaging etiquettes, synonyms, word building through scrabble, life and social skills, email and resume writing, tips and strategies to appear and crack interviews.

The students enthusiastically participated in all these activities and learnt to express themselves confidently before the audience. The students expressed these classes as “fun and the best way to utilize their vacation period”. The students also got the chance to go around the campus and explore the college and they were very happy to be in the lively campus equipped with the latest and modern infrastructure.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressing her views said that since the youth is the future of the nation, it is important to guide them and these free of cost Skill Enhancement classes give them an opportunity to explore the various courses which they might pursue in the future and at the same time utilize their free time productively.
